Spa in Austria

Austria offers an amazing variety of activities during winter, of which my favorite is spa. Being famous for the thermal baths, there are many hotels that have their own spa and wellness center. Working like crazy for Christmas and New Year, I decided to take some days off in January and enjoy a bit the Alpine thermal baths.

First me and my friend booked a weekend at the Narzissen Vital Resort in Bad Aussee, a city famous for the Narzissen Festival in May. We arrived midday, although we could check in only at 3 pm, the receptionist told us we can use the spa center. They offered us all the necessary things like towels and bathrobes. After laying lazy for a couple of hours we went to check in and change before dinner. The wooden style hotel room was huge, with balcony and modern bathroom. Everything was so beautiful and well organized, very comfortable and relaxing.

In the evening we went for dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. For starters we shared marinated vegetables with cheese, and for main course risotto with chicken, all this along with white wine – Muskateller, my favorite.IMG_7883[1]

The second day after having breakfast, which by the way was amazing, we went to the spa center again. Of all the things we did not try the sauna, because as you know in many places in Austria you can enter in the sauna area only naked, so you will like to check this thing first before booking a hotel. Other than that, we enjoyed a lot the indoor and outdoor pools, the whirlpools, steam bath, and the cave pool with salty water. I liked the most the outdoor pool because of the view. You have a unique panorama of Austrian mountains.

Narzissen Vital Resort hotel did very well meet our expectations and offered us an unforgettable experience. The thermal waters are very good for your skin, calming the aching joints, even it is recommended for more severe cases like rheumatism and arthritis. For me it was more of a relaxing weekend while catching up with one of my best friend. I would totally recommend you the spa experience, as well as the Narzissen Vital Resort.

Last weekend we went to Bad Ischl to spend a couple of hours at the Eurothermen Resort, another famous wellness and spa center in Austria. It has indoor and outdoor pools, salt water and clean water. The most I enjoyed ”the lazy river” and the view. Also, they offer a large variety of massages and baths, as well saunas ( which is also requesting to enter naked), solarium and steam baths. It was a very relaxing afternoon with my friends, reading and catching up.

Did you try the above mentioned resorts? What do you think about them? Would you recommend them to your friends? Which one did you try else? Please leave a comment below, I will be very happy to learn about your spa experiences.
